About Surfnet Surfnet Communications is a wireless Internet Service provider (ISP) providing services by a network of fiber and wireless access points. Our coverage area is mostly in the rural areas of Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Monterey and San Luis Obispo counties. Primary Responsibilities • Oversee day-to-day management of social media channels • Working with leadership, oversee and/or develop radio, print, and other advertisements • Create and implement monthly social media strategy and content • Utilize multiple digital channels including email, SMS, web content and video, to engage the Surfnet community • Create and publish the social media copy • Prepare graphics to accompany social media posts • Ensure brand consistency in copy through tone and voice • Manage all aspects of social media interaction between followers and Surfnet and ensure a positive experience for community members • Create actionable plans to both grow and maintain followers and engagement through social media platforms including Facebook, Google and Yelp • Ensure progress on all platforms by using analytical tools such as platform- based analytics, and Google Analytics • Engage with community leaders and influencers through community mixers • Other responsibilities, as assigned. Qualifications • Direct experience or training in social media management • Creative mind that is comfortable producing real-time content across various social media platforms • Demonstrated strong communication skills, particularly written • Strong computer skills including PowerPoint and Adobe Photoshop • Graphic design • Strong analytical skills and willingness to use tools such as platform-based analytics and google analytics • Organized and can manage multiple social channels and calendars • Relevant experience determining a target audience and how to cater unique marketing campaigns to capture their attention • Strong understanding of marketing strategy and how to effortlessly utilize these concepts throughout various forms of outreach • Experience with social media ad buying • Ability to work within messaging guidelines and remain politically nonpartisan • Team player, ability to multi-task and willingness to grow and learn are a huge plus • Formal training in business, marketing, journalism, public relations or related field is a plus, but not required Other important information you should know: • Position can be full-time or part-time (minimum 20 hours / week) • Location can be remote or based out of our office in Atascadero; expectation is that the person in this role will attend occasional meetings in our Atascadero office • The successful candidate must be willing to take the COVID-19 vaccine unless an accommodation is required by law Please send Resume, cover letter and some samples of your work via email reply.
