OverviewJoin our team as a Senior Graphic Designer and support the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Public Affairs (OPA) by producing high-visibility print and digital creative campaigns. You will design posters, exhibits, reports, and multimedia graphics for national events and initiatives, ensure every deliverable meets federal accessibility and design standards.FWI is expanding rapidly and has been recognized as a 2024 and 2025 Top Workplace by the Washington Post, offering excellent growth opportunities in a collaborative environment. ** Position is contingent upon contract award**Work Schedule and Location:On-Site: This full-time on-site position will work Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm at DOL's Frances Perkins Building (FPB) headquarters in Washington, DC.ResponsibilitiesDesign a wide range of print and digital products — posters, exhibits, stage banners, website and social media graphics, motion graphics, infographics, annual reports, booklets, and signageWork independently with minimal creative direction, from concept through final productionPrepare visual media using Macintosh systems and industry-standard design softwareResolve technical production issues and recommend materials/equipment for each assignmentPrioritize competing project deadlines and proactively flag risks to the project leadInteract directly with senior agency officials and stakeholders on creative directionApply basic Section 508 accessibility principles to all design outputQualificationsRequired:Minimum 10 years of professional experience in graphic designDemonstrated ability to work independently with little to no design guidanceExperience interacting with senior/high-level officials or executivesProficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, and Microsoft OfficeWorking portfolio demonstrating advanced design capability (references/portfolio required for submission)Basic knowledge of Section 508 accessibility requirementsPrior direct work experience with the DOL Office of Public Affairs Creative Services Division is requiredDesired:Prior experience supporting a federal public affairs or creative services functionExperience with large-format print production, exhibit/banner installation, or framing/mattingFamiliarity with IPTC metadata standards for digital asset managementWhy Join Our TeamAt FWI, we place the highest importance on creating an exceptional employee experience.
