Structural Graphic Packaging Designer

We are a financially sound organization with a well established reputation for innovation and quality. We are currently looking for a Structural Graphic Packaging Design Trainee. This position will assist in creating and developing new packaging designs utilizing corrugated, foam, plastic and wood material for retail point of purchase displays and manufacturing industries. This is an entry level position.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Work with the sales team and customers to provide effective solutions for the customer’s product through assessment of information provided and translating it into creative structural design solutions, considering visual and structural integrity and cost effective manufacturability and assembly.Create designs in a variety of formats and materials, including structural prototypes of packaging, three-dimensional drawings, photographs, illustrative renderings, technical drawings, and assembly instructions.Create graphic designs, logo development, and digital implementation.Manages and disseminates information, prototypes, and electronic files through the entire design process into production, assembly, and placement.Enhance existing concepts or designs.Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.Required Skills and Experience: Currently working toward a degree in a design related or engineering field is preferredExperience working with CAD and Adobe Illustrator is preferredProficiency in Microsoft Office applications is requiredExcellent spatial reasoning skillsMust have excellent written and verbal communication skillsMust be detail orientedAble to lift 50lbsAble to sit, stand and walk for periods of timeQualified applicants should submit a resume, along with a cover letter, along with salary requirements.LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLYJob Type: Full-timeJob Type: Full-timeBenefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offTuition reimbursementSchedule:8 hour shiftDay shiftMonday to FridaySupplemental pay types:Bonus payExperience:2D CAD: 1 year (Preferred)3D CAD: 1 year (Preferred)Adobe Illustrator: 1 year (Preferred)Work Location: One location
