Position Summary

The Supervisor, Graphic Design leads and coordinates graphic design operations across both Everett and Lancaster locations, ensuring consistent quality, efficiency, and alignment with production goals. This role oversees the development of production-ready graphics (vinyl and full-color), enforces standardized workflows and SOPs, and drives team performance through coaching, training, and continuous improvement. The Supervisor, Graphic Design partners cross-functionally to ensure accurate, timely execution from concept through production while maintaining a unified communication structure and visibility across both teams.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Participates in the hiring and training of departmental team members.

Organizes and oversees the work and schedules of departmental team members.

Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.

Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Oversees day-to-day design operations for both Everett and Lancaster teams, ensuring alignment with production priorities.

Creates and modifies vinyl and full-color graphics while maintaining production-ready standards.

Reviews and approves designs to ensure accuracy, quality, and adherence to customer specifications.

Ensures all artwork is properly prepared and formatted for output to media.

Conducts quality assurance and proofreading of signage prior to production.

Assigns work, manages team workloads, and monitors deadlines across both locations.

Monitors team capacity, productivity, and performance to ensure operational efficiency.

Provides leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to design team members.

Leads onboarding, training, and continuous development initiatives for the design team.

Hosts recurring design review and error analysis meetings to improve quality and reduce rework.

Develops, standardizes, and maintains SOPs and workflows across both locations.

Communicates updates, announcements, and priorities to the unified design team via Slack and email.

Reports performance metrics for Everett and Lancaster teams, internally and cross-functionally.

Collaborates with production, sales, and customer service teams to ensure project alignment and execution.

Supports cross-location collaboration and provides remote support as needed during business hours.

Identifies process improvements and recommends enhancements to tools, workflows, and technologies.

Operates within and enforces company policies, procedures, and quality standards.

Required Skills and Abilities

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent sense of design.

Thorough understanding of typography, drawing, and lettering techniques.

Proficient in Google Office Suite or related software and graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite.

Familiar and comfortable with AI LLM tools as a multiplier of personal and team capacity.

Strong leadership skills.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Understanding of, or ability to learn, art and print methods that relate to the organization's product and packaging needs.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree required; BFA in Art, Graphic Arts, or related discipline highly preferred.

At least three years in graphic design required.

1-3 years in a supervisory role in graphic design required.

1-3 years in a production graphic design role required.

Project management and managerial experience preferred.

Travel Required

Occasional travel (approximately 1–2 times per year) to Everett, WA Location.
