Provides conceptual design and manages production for a wide range of academic publications, advertising, promotional materials, direct mail, social media, branding and other promotional material.Examples of Duties:Design publications, advertising materials, social media posts, and large format projects from the conception of design through completionManage workflow, priorities, and multiple projects at onceMaintain adherence to university brand, logo, and color standardsMeet with university clients to define publication designs, sequences, specs and schedules; determine the needs of the audience; and ensure materials adhere to accepted university brand guidelinesOversee the development of specifications and cost estimates for printing services according to format, paper stocks, mail specification requirements, inks and volumes; inspect and approve printer proofs to ensure that specifications and standards of accuracy and quality of materials are metDetermine availability of resources to meet requests for preparation and completion of printed matter efficiently and on scheduleCollaborate with writers and editors from Creative services and other departments around campus on developing university publicationsDirect and manage photo shootsQualifications:BFA in graphic design required and 5-7 years of professional marketing, graphic design experience. Extensive knowledge of graphic design principles and practices and the different software utilized in graphic design. Exceptional familiarity with typography, printing, production, and photography. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
