VDC Designer

We’re partnering with a well-established and growing MEP construction organization to identify a VDC Designer to support multifamily and commercial projects. This individual will play a key role in developing high-quality construction and fabrication drawings, coordinating across trades, and supporting field and project teams throughout the lifecycle of the project. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative, forward-thinking team that leverages technology and process to deliver complex projects with precision. Key Responsibilities • Develop detailed construction and fabrication drawings using Revit, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Fabrication tools • Coordinate with engineering, architectural, and structural teams to ensure design accuracy and completeness • Review project documents and identify conflicts, discrepancies, or coordination issues • Collaborate with project managers, field teams, and shop personnel to support execution • Assist with clash detection and coordination across trades to ensure constructability • Perform site visits, field measurements, and provide on-site support when needed • Review submittals and ensure alignment with project requirements and specifications • Support the RFI process by identifying and documenting design issues • Maintain document control and ensure drawing accuracy throughout the detailing process • Conduct final reviews of drawings prior to fabrication release Qualifications • High school diploma or GED required, Associate’s degree in Drafting, Design Technology, or related field preferred • 3+ years of experience in VDC, BIM, or coordination roles within construction • Experience supporting multifamily, residential, hospitality, or similar project types preferred • Strong proficiency with: Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, CADMEP, Autodesk Construction Cloud (BIM 360), Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite • Working knowledge of: Mechanical, plumbing, or HVAC systems, construction drawings and standard building practices • Ability to coordinate across teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
