Northern California Public Media (NorCal) is currently seeking a Video Editor/Post Production Coordinator. Based in Sonoma County, CA, NorCal serves the San Francisco region. Comprised of two public television stations, KRCB and KPJK, and one public radio station, KRCB FM, NorCal offers PBS, NPR and Independent Public Broadcasting programming to the community. Overview: Reporting to the TV Executive Producer the Video Editor/Post Production Coordinator primarily edits, finishes, and oversees broadcast television episodes of nationally presented programs, including local programming, on-air promotion and branding video assets. Key Responsibilities: • Edit (off-line) and finish (online editing, grading) nationally presented episodes to PBS technical standards • Oversee all video post-production in coordination and consultation with the TV Executive Producer • Create audio trax and graphics to enhance footage, which may include selecting sound effects, music, and drafting voice-overs • Color correction (grading) of various broadcast projects including documentaries, series, short subjects and promos • Work closely with producers to present a final product that matches their vision • Evaluate and advise on the post-production work of current staff and any future post-production staff or interns engaged in television broadcast or digital video post-production activities Job Requirements: • Strong familiarity with Northern California, particularly Sonoma County • Knowledge and understanding of production pipelines, on-air promotion, national syndication, budgets and multimedia platforms • Knowledge and understanding of PBS technical broadcast standards • 5+ years’ experience and high proficiency with Adobe production software including Premiere Pro, After Effect, Audition, and Photoshop; experience with Microsoft Word and Excel; Joomla and ProTrack experience a plus • 5+ years’ experience in local broadcast post-production • Experience in national broadcast post-production • Proficiency in Motion Graphic Design and Animation • Proficiency with advanced post-production techniques in a broadcast environment: effective production problem-solving with visual effects, camera tracking, 3D animation, color correction (grading), and audio processing • Ability to effectively supervise and develop possible future post-production employees • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Commitment to excellence and high standards • Strong organizational skills; able to manage priorities and workflow • Strong attention to detail • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm • Ability to work occasional late evenings and weekends Minimum Qualifications: • Minimum of seven years media experience • Minimum of five years of post-production experience • BA/BS degree in media, management, or other related field • Valid driver’s license What we offer: This is a Full-Time, Exempt base salary position with benefits offered—medical, dental, 403B, paid vacation and holidays.
