Visual Communications Artist

A Visual Communications Artist is needed to create and install signs throughout the city. The artist will be responsible for designing, fabricating, and installing various types of signage, including street signs and other forms of visual communication. Key tasks include: • Designing and laying out standard and custom signage in compliance with uniform traffic control devices • Creating digital designs using graphic design software such as Flexi Sign • Developing mockups of street signs for approval • Installing signage in the field on various surfaces Additional responsibilities include attending training and workshops to maintain certifications and staying up-to-date with new technology developments. Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, two years of related work experience, computer proficiency, and a valid driver's license.
