As a Graphic Designer, you will be responsible for leading design and production of print and digital materials, as well as other functions of the Marketing Specialty Services department.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:Serve as the organization’s lead graphic designer, creating high-impact print and digital marketing materials, corporate publications, advertisements, and collateral in alignment with brand guidelines and marketing strategies.Conceptualize and design visual elements—such as graphics, illustrations, and layouts—that effectively communicate key messages and reflect the desired tone and themes of campaigns and initiatives.Use professional design software (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) to execute creative assets, including advanced photo manipulation, image retouching, and pre-press file preparation for print production.Recommend creative enhancements that elevate the brand’s visual while maintaining consistency with established guidelines.Design visually distinctive assets, including infographics and illustrations, to communicate complex information in a clear and accessible way.Work closely with the Senior Director, Marketing Specialty Services, to participate in project planning and design strategy discussions.Collaborate with internal Marketing and Communications staff to develop targeted, integrated marketing campaigns.Collaborate with freelance designers when needed to ensure quality and consistency across projects.Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables meet quality standards, including handling multiple rounds of revisions.Utilize project management tools such as Asana (or comparable platforms) to effectively track tasks, manage timelines, incorporate feedback, and ensure the successful execution of projects.Maintain organized design files and adhere to an efficient asset management system.Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and proactively address design-related challenges.Collaborative team player who responds positively to constructive feedback and contributes to a supportive, solution-focused work environment.Effectively communicate with team members to ensure clarity and prevent miscommunication, errors and unnecessary delays.Proactive, self-starter mindset with a strong drive to independently seek solutions and organizational knowledge.Pursue professional development opportunities to stay current on design trends and best practices.As needed, volunteer for after-hours and weekend activities that support United Way’s mission and visibility in the community.Participate actively in United Way’s crisis response efforts, contributing design support as part of the organization’s leadership role during community emergencies.Requirements:Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or equivalent experience.Experience Requirements: 5+ years of experience as a Graphic Designer.Technology Requirements: Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Microsoft Office in particular PowerPoint and Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Asana. Exceptional creativity and innovation. Accuracy and attention to detail a must.
