Social Media + Design Internship Opportunity

RCL DESIGN SOCIAL MEDIA + DESIGN INTERN Part-Time RCL Design is a Seattle brand, concept + design firm seeking a social media and creative design Intern for the Winter Semester (Late December through April) with the opportunity to continue into Spring and Summer. This internship focuses on social media along with graphic design and creative projects as assigned for the two entities over which RCL Design umbrellas: RCL STUDIO and RCL Hospitality. RCL works with entrepreneurs, restaurateurs and collaborative creatives with the resources and support to make their spaces memorable. Our recent portfolio includes but is not limited to Mr. West Cafe Bar (Branding + Interiors), Bottlehouse Seattle (Branding + Interiors), Flagstick Pub SLU (Interiors + Web), Girl Meets Dirt ( Packaging), Something Silver (Branding + Interiors), The Carlile Room (Branding +), Feed Co (Branding, Interiors, Website). EXPECTATIONS Part-time 15-20 hours a week On- site at all 3 locations as well as in studio for meetings and administrative work Reports directly to Creative Director, Senior Designer + Creative Assistant Flexibility on weekends to assist with special projects, tasks, and events Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required for transport between locations Required reliable equipment Laptop for design, email and other administrative tasks Cell phone for social media posting Digital camera and/or quality cell phone camera for content capturing Proficiency in Office Suite, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop Excellent project management skills Excellent analytical and organizational skills Excellent written and oral communication skills Proven excellence with multi-tasking and prioritization Thrives in a faced paced, dynamic small business environment Setting monthly goals for retail/merchandising RESPONSIBILITIES Social Media Curation Project manage social media/PR tasks and efforts for each company Create and execute mutually agreed upon posts per week (min 4- 5/week/company) including copy + hashtag creation Maintain meeting schedule (through Google calendar, emails, and texting) Compile agendas, take minutes on the drive and share with team Organize photos into appropriate folders on the drive Assisting with getting collateral (posts, reels, animations, gifs, "blog posts" aka IG Guides) Help develop a strong visual brand for Instagram Graphic Design Promotional Marketing Collateral Posters, Postcards DigitalNewsletter Web design support Packaging (Creating kits + labels) Signage Apparel Environmental Design Photography Photography Food Styling + Food Photography Retail Photography Lifestyle Photography SKILL REQUIREMENTS Relevant College degree required (i.e Visual Communications, Arts/Photography, Digital Marketing, Public relations, or similar) Intermediate knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop all are required) Adobe After Effects (preferred) Lightroom preferred Canva Photography + Styling (Camera not required but preferred) Must have Graphic Design experience Interest in merchandising/storefront design and/or apparel design Interest in interior design or architecture Interest in Seattle food, coffee, wine and cocktail scene Experience and/or a strong interest in B2B branding & graphic design Has experience with Social Media platforms (Instagram specifically) Has retail/customer service/ hospitality experience Has an interest in interior plants and plant/floral design Working knowledge of design drawings and documentation.
